It’s official… Deadwood Mountain Grand’s ground has been broke!

In a ceremony today, investors in Deadwood’s newest entertainment venue took a ceremonial dig to begin construction on this $40-+ million dollar project. Included in the partners is Big Kenny, of Big and Rich fame.

The new venue will have 200 some gaming machines, 100+ hotel rooms and a 2,500 seat concert venue. It’s going to be a great benefit to Deadwood.

They hope to open in July 2011. Look for more news on this in weeks to come.

Other than that, a little rainy here in Deadwood and we are still waiting for some warm May weather to arrive – hopefully soon!
