Warm weather and motorcycles. HA! Mother Nature was playing bit of a trick on us. While the rain yesterday lulled us into an even more sense of spring, the 6 new inches of snow put us back in our place! Yep, more snow in Deadwood — but thankfully it’s early in the week, meaning Deadwood fans and winter recreationalists will have no worries about getting up here on the weekend.
The staff here in Deadwood is busy with Mardi Gras planning. The parade of lights on Saturday, Feb. 21 is shaping up to be one of the biggest ever. We even had to buy more beads to throw to the crowd! Yep, it’s going to one heckuva weekend up here in Deadwood. Make plans and join us!
Have a great week all, and until next time…

I so wanted to join you for Mardi gras this year!
I tried to find a room in Deadwood over a month ago and there were none to be found! Yikes! You all need more rooms there. I tried to find a room for Kool Deadwood nights also with no luck 8 months in advance! Man am I disappointed

Hello Kay:
I’m sorry you weren’t able to find a room in Deadwood, but I would like to suggest finding a place in Lead, or even Spearfish or Sturgis. Both Spearfish and Sturgis are relatively close and there are shuttles that will be running to and from Deadwood throughout the Mardi Gras Weekend.
DaBus (605) 206-0128 will be running from Sturgis and Prairie Hills Transit (605) 642-6613 will be running from Spearfish. There are options out there! And please feel free to call us here at the Chamber at 1-800-999-1876 for any additional information. We are here to help!
